Terms of Use
Updated: 02.08.2026
This translation is provided for convenience only; the Hebrew text is the binding version.
Welcome to Shoko ("the app" / "the service"). The service is operated by Felix Peleg — Clinical Dietitian (sole proprietor) ("we" / "the operator"). Your use of the app, website, and related services is subject to these terms. By registering or using the service, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Last updated: August 2026. Masculine form used for convenience; applies to all genders.
1. The Service
Shoko is a nutrition tracking app: meal logging (food database search, barcode scanning, or free-text entries processed with AI), calorie and macro tracking, personalized goals, progress and weight tracking, chat with an automated nutrition assistant, and optional sync with activity and health data. The service is provided as-is, and we may change, add, or discontinue features from time to time.
2. Not Medical Advice
The information, recommendations, and calculations in Shoko — including responses from the automated assistant — are for general informational and nutritional guidance only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not rely on them as a substitute for consultation with a physician, clinical dietitian, or qualified professional. Before making significant dietary changes, taking supplements, or if you have a medical condition, pregnancy, or sensitivities — consult a professional. Your use of the information is at your own risk.
3. Age and Eligibility
The service is intended for users 18+, or ages 16–17 with parent/guardian consent. By using the service, you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.
4. Account and Registration
You can sign up with email and password, or via Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity in your account. Provide accurate, up-to-date information. We may suspend or terminate accounts used abusively or in violation of these terms.
5. Fair Use and Prohibited Actions
- No illegal, abusive, or rights-infringing use.
- Do not attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overload the service.
- Do not copy, duplicate, or distribute content from the service without permission.
- Do not submit false, harmful, or third-party content without authorization.
6. Plans, Subscriptions, and Payments
Some features are available on a paid plan (auto-renewing monthly subscription). When upgrading to a paid plan, you authorize immediate charge and recurring monthly payments of the displayed amount until canceled. Payment is processed via an authorized payment processor (HYP/Yaad), and tax invoices/receipts are issued via an invoicing service. You may cancel anytime through the app or by contacting us; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until the paid period ends. Transaction cancellation will be handled per the Israeli Consumer Protection Law and its regulations. Prices may change, and notice of changes will be provided in advance.
7. Intellectual Property
All rights in the service — including design, code, brand, texts, databases, and the "Shoko" logo — belong to the operator or its licensors. You obtain no rights other than a personal, limited, non-commercial license to use the service. Content you submit (e.g., your food log) remains yours, and you grant us a license to process it to operate the service.
8. Limitation of Liability
The service is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any direct or indirect damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the service; reliance on information; or technical issues, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total liability, if any, will not exceed the amount you actually paid in the three months preceding the event.
9. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with the revision date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or for operational/legal reasons.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and exclusive jurisdiction lies with the competent courts in the Tel Aviv district.
